Peg under accelerator

Hi guys,

I have a Brava 1.8 elx (1999), i only bought it a couple of weeks ago.

I have noticed that there is a metal peg about 2 inches long under the accelerator pedal which prevents you from pressing the accelerator to the floor. It doesn't look like its factory fitted.

Has anybody else got this ? or have any idea of what it might be ? and can anybody think of any good reason why i shouldn't remove it ?

thanks,

Sion.

it is factory fitted and it stops you snapping the throttle cable.

as above. ive got one on mine and i would suggest you dont remove it. Even if you did, it would help you get more speed out of it.

thanks

thanks guys,

i'll leave it there, though i was kind of hoping it was something fitted to reduce the acceleration, oh well ....

cheers,

sion

Re: thanks

@ Tom - I thought there was no throttle cable on the Bravo (fly-by-wire?)...

But don't take it off...

Re: thanks

most fiat cars of that era had them, is that right about the fly by wire thing? I never realised that.

Re: thanks

Daz, HGT155 and 1.2 only.

All the others are proper cable operated throttles. (thankfully!)
