Making the trip back from Somerset to our abode last week after a family day out, my two youngest (early teenage years, but as you'll see, still more than capable of behaving like three year olds) were sat in the front of the Multi with me and decided it would be fun to play 'sweet or sour' - their name for the age old game of waving to all those in cars coming the other way in the hope that they will in turn wave back.
Right, says I, you wave to any vehicle you choose, I'll wave to any Multiplas and we'll see which returns the higher percentage success rate.
Result? We passed three Multiplas. All three Multi drivers enthusiastically waved back (including one where even the little kid in the back waved, who could have been no more than two years old). 100% to me. All it should be said, were 'the real thing' - round nose Multis. None of your squared-off dilution here thank you.
Of the several hundred other vehicles my rabble waved to, two drivers could be bothered to acknowledge, one of which was driving a big artic, bless him.
My offspring were, to use their parlance, 'owned'.
This may be very childish and I know some here find this sort of thing annoying, but personally I take great cheer from a modern-day mass market car garnering such enthusiasm. Can you say the same of any others?
