Hi all,

I have a Fiat Punto mk2b active sport. For a while now, both my passenger airbag light and the airbag light have both been on. The airbag light came on before the passenger airbag light, but the passenger airbag light flashes rather than staying lit.

I've been searching the forum for an answer but I can't seem to find anything about the passenger light except for a wiring loom that only Fiat can supply. I called a Fiat garage and quoted the product number but they couldn't find anything under the number or the description. I think this is due to the car being some years old now but I was wondering if anyone knows what could be the problem?

I've booked it in for a diagnostic scan tomorrow but I just wanted to check if anyone found a solution to this since the last threads that were posted, on this topic, around 8 or so years ago. I've checked over the wiring and there aren't any loose or corroded connections and I'm aware that there aren't any wires under the passenger seat that may have come loose, with there being no sensors.

Many thanks,

Adam.

Here is the fix using the Fiat wiring modification.

The relevant passenger airbag is in the dashboard above the glove box.

I thought I saw recently an explanation of that video where you could do the fix without the official wiring mod?

So.. youve tried the wiring.. and disconnected the battery.

Does the passenger isolator switch make any difference?

That switch is the only airbag item I have has problems with.

Scanned it with MES...

Fixed the wiring plug

Cleared from ECU with MES

Who is doing your scan?

Charlie

The Isolator switch doesn't change anything when I turn it on or off and I'm taking it to an Auto Electrician for the scan

Wiring loom is a short piece of wire bolted to the under centre console in front of the gear lever and connected under the left hand side dash iirc although did my sons some years ago so memory hazy:)

Did you mean to include a link?

I know, it's an after market mod but FIAT no longer produce the loom, at least that's what I was made out to believe on the phone when they told me they didn't have anything of that description. Unless you have any information on where I could get one?
