does any 1 know a cheaper place

hi, i cant comment on the price of the cable or pump, but my timing belt kit for my 04 1.9 jtd cost me about £87 which i think is expensive, its made by a company called gates, these are one of the best makes you can buy, £130 is a bit over the top, unless this inc fitting, in which case its a bargain! i got it from a local motor factors in notts, i think i saw the same kit on e-bay for a bit less, as for the radio code, my local fiat dealer quoted £25 for obtaining it for me, but it depends how well you get on with your dealer, you may get it for less.
some parts you can only buy new from the main dealer as no one makes a patern part for it.
second hand parts off breakers are allright if its body parts, but i would not risk it with mechanical bits personally, regards, geoff

it was £130 just for the timing belt kit not for fitting. but it was from the dealers though. cheers for the advice :bang::slayer:

With the price of radios these days, if you weren't given a code I'd just rip out the old unit & put something decent in.
Sometimes, when you take radios in, they will simply recode rather than find the original. OH once had this on a 3y/o car, the powered amp on the aerial had water ingress so kept blowing fuses, main stealer had no idea so sent the car round to a specialist electrical place - of course, the radio lost everything. When we took it back to the specialist with the code we had, he told us that wasn't the original, his equipment showed it had 4 recodes. He wiped it clean & put in the original.

the code is just so when i get rid of it ive a radio to go back in ps my sony wont hold the memory if i take the ignition key out and it wont switch on without the ignition i think its the red & yellow wires want swapped around or joined to the back of it ? any ideas would be welcome cheers in advance.
also ive just ordered the linkage kit that comes with the gear change cables & the linkage parts next to the gear stick £122 ( if you tell them your a taxi driver ) but £145 for just the cables. but the fiat dealer told me that its best to change the lot as the hole thing is crap
