Yes, I expect they normally do! But mines riding on lancia beta coupe alloys with 185 tyres better suited to track use. It was one of the silliest things I have attempted to get away with to be fair lol. I could hardly stand on the road  It was ice beneatha soft velvety snow blanket that gave me the illusion it was safe.

Anyway, another day working at the repair of the 4x4's engine should mean that britain comes out of the deep freeze pronto!! hahaha. Beats sitting at a computer all day when the systems are all down!!

I think that's hilarious

I know we've got a couple of threads going on this years snow but thought I'd add my pics to this one in order to resurect it for the newbies.

Last year I was in Wiltshire having fun in the blue CLX and Charmania but this year I now live in Hampshire and thought I'd give the skinny wheeled Mk1 a try :). It's been great so far, some places we got to yesterday only had big 4x4's out to keep us company. Anyway, here's the pics..........

The smokers outside the pub when we arrived were most impressed when we pulled up, I think a couple went back in to check thier drinks ;).

No Panda, just a lovely scene next to the pub.

Mmm, I'll have a 99 please!

That's it for now, but I'm hoping we get even more snow so that I can really test him.

From last winter,no new pics yet:mad:

Fitted the all terrain tyres this morning, then had to go back to Chippenham for a couple of hours ( 160 round trip ) so they got a good testing.

Really pleased with them, they grip brilliantly in the soft stuff and run quite nicely on tarmac too, even the motorway! They do make quite a drone though, but you soon forget about that. Pandas aren't the most refined of vehicles anyway :p.

They almost transform a 2wd Panda into a 4x4 at a fraction of the cost, I drove up a snow covered muddy incline of about 30 degrees into a field with no problem at all. Took a couple of pics while I was at it............

The 155/70's are definately the ones to go for if you're fitting to a 2wd Panda, they suit the lower ride height better. I'm keen to venture out where only 4x4's would normally go now .

Old thread but any more Panda's playing in the snow?

No new pics today but did rescue a nice couple in a big Audi estate (not good on these A4 or A6?). They had managed to get completely stuck in a valley with steep hills either way, and could only slither around sideways. Wondered if it might be a bit much for a 999cc Sisley not exactly in the first flush of youth, but as I had a rope in the boot......

As you will probably guess the 24 year old Panda tugged it a mile or so up a couple of very steep snow covered hills without noticably spinning a wheel (y) I was impressed and so were they (if a little sheepish). Shame there aren't any pics as it must have looked a little strange :)

Nice one Gavin (y), these are the stories I love to hear :)

Pics anyone? Would you believe I haven't got any Pandas on the road at the moment, hopefully that will change tomorrow.

Edit.

Aca, just saw your pics, that burried Panda is brilliant!:eek:

One from yesterday:

This is the first time I've used it in snow properly, and I was very impressed, couldn't even get the wheels to spin in 4WD when trying. I tried the 1 in 5 hill to our house in 2WD, but didn't quite make it, pulled the 4WD lever and then pulled away like there was no snow at all.

One problem I have found though is that once the snow gets deep it starts to collect in the sump guard and around the gear linkage, meaning I was struggling to get some of the gears and couldn't engage 4WD very easily.

Just drive faster..that's what I did last year..:D

My first Winter with my Panda so to say I was excited when I saw the snow falling on Saturday afternoon is an understatement.

I made it my mission to get out and do some snow driving so I hunted out some lanes that I knew would be a test, needless to say it was truly remarkable, it took 4 adults up very steep and long lane to the amazement of the kids who had to stop sledging down to let the Panda through! Unfortunately no pics of said road but can be found [ame="http://www.google.co.uk/search?sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=53.917129%2C-1.833944"]53.917129,-1.833944 - Google Search[/ame]
