Well, I've been after a sump guard practically since I started rebuilding the 'Rat. They're not exactly growing on trees...
well, if you're that desperate buy that grey sisley in Norwich... it'll be cheaper and you'll get a load of drive train bits you can flog to me cheap.

It looks green to me, although originally white. Anyway, while it's a good idea in principle, in practice it would be considerably more expensive due to the logistics involved in getting it from Norwich to Co. Durham or South Wales and having done things like this quite a few times in the past I can't really be bothered with all that hassle. If I get the one with the bull bars at what I'm willing to pay I'll be happy.

Well, if you're going to be taking your car off road it's quite useful for preventing any damage occuring to the sump. I'd rather have a scraped and dented sump guard than my engine oil all over some dirt track in the middle of nowhere. As for the weight issue, the Panda is hardly a performance machine so a few extra kilograms of very beneficial protection is worthwhile I think. It depends on what you do with the car really. I'm building mine for some fun off-road activities.

Do you still have your sump guard? If it's so useless to you perhaps you'd like to sell it to me? :)

What age is that 4x4?

I've sent Chris the link but only had a drunken scan of the auction...

Jim
age is hard to say, firstly because there are no number plates on it... secondly i would have no idea what the digits on the number plate would translate to if they were there to read.

perhaps someone can ask them... my Italian's is not really up to that sort of standard.

Re: Panda Ebay Thread

that is mk1 panda so will be before 1986, but that colour was only available from 1984.

time to decide how much you are willing to pay then isn't it :)

I know! oh well i'm going for it anyway... but Panda's seem to be farily costly! the sump guard - I already have 1 spare, slightly bent but OK - if this one is any better I guess i'll swap it? i'm not sure what a guard is worth - but don't need two i guess

Chris is chatting to the owner at the min but I've not got much detail on it other than that the cars been used on the owners land since new so that's why it's not registered.

Apparently it's near his parts supplier so things are looking good on the FF/Panda section making to California!

Speaking of North American Pandas.... Mmmmm

Re: Panda Ebay Thread

That 4x4 has more mk 2 parts on it really. the bumper, tailgate, seats...all mk 2 parts. the wheels were from something else aswell. Not a proper mk1 like mine :D

The 34, wat an example tho, its mint and going for pennies. Are they worth nothing over there or summit!

Re: Panda Ebay Thread

Hey, has anyone spotted this panda on ebay. Its a 45 in not bad condition for its age. Not going for much. If it stays that low i'll be very tempted to buy it as i am quite close to west dorset. if he can deliver cheap i will be chuffed. If anyone on here is thinking about bidding on it, pm me as i'd like to know wat the plans are, how much ppl are prepared to pay for it and so on. If its gonna go too high for me then obviously i wont bother.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....MEWA:IT&viewitem=&item=170049154125&rd=1&rd=1

Best it goes to a loving home or to some1 who will restore it :D would be my plan at least. But as you all know i have little funds so cheapness is a must.

Anyway, just thought i'd make ya'll aware.(y)
May this panda find a happy home :D

Cheers
Si
