(y) hi all, im new to this so bear with me
i recently bought a panda as my 1st car and am considering modding it.
Does anyone know the best way to go about this? Obviously as im only young i'm looking to keep the insurance down so not too much tuning to be done maybe just an air filter and exhaust. but what about styling? is there really anything i can do on the outside? ive already got some ice and a black and red re-trim on the seats. i just think it needs something on the outside.
Any help would be much appreciated. thanks a lot and happy pandering! :D

hi there

it pends wha look ya want as well as performance, like the 1 i have 4 sale on here, not lowerd and has 14's on at present and it look bit like a mini rangerover but i put sports coil k and n and decent plugs and leads on and that made a difference or u could go for a kit but it will most likely have to be custom made and it will cost ya. all depends on the look ya want (y)

My honest opinion is that you would be wasting money. View the Panda for what it is. A cheap, fun, ultilitarian vehicle that will take you from a to b. It should be reliable, but it won't win any races and sticking bits of plastic to it won't help economy or performance.

It's a good first car. You should enjoy it and don't take it too seriously. :)

i agree as far as the car goes it a little car which looks good as it is only thing worth doin is alloys and engine if ya want but it is true they aint quick really but if u gunna do anything dont go for a kit i dont look good me mate did it nd it looked daft (y) nice and simple although decent leads and a coil would help its runin and startin so they a good investment

if you have a look on my profile there is a front splitter i found at a scrapyard on my panda. I'm afraid to say tho i have absolutely no idea who makes it or what it is called.

Hi Pandapop and welcome.
I have to disagree with the others, with a 999cc engine you can have fun and increase the performance without upping the insurance. Mine is still a group 1 and the Co-op know about it's mods.
It will do 0-60 in about 11 secs and a top speed of about 130. I've had 120 out of it. It has a rev counter, the speedo won't show those speeds!
There are several sites to visit to look at modded Pandas.

www.thomassoft.com/pandapower

A site a previous owner of my Panda set up. He did alot of the styling work on the car and it is detailed here.
He sold it on to an engineering student who put in a Piper cam, allowing 6500 revs, electric windows, remote central locking and a Fila interior from a Lancia Y10, and various other little bits to increase it's power. Probably up to around the mid to high 50's bhp....Cheap plug...and it's for sale! see the classifieds!

An extreme racing Panda

Both have links to other sites.
I think Pandaboys front splitter is from a Yugo 45 sport.
A Citroen AX spoiler fits on the back, alloys you can usually pick up on eBay or on here for a reasonable price, but insurance companys often up your premium by £60 for them! Thats why mine is with the Co-op.
Good luck with it, the main thing is to have fun and stuff your mates with their Fiestas and corsas!

How did you slash the 0-60 time by 30%?????????

that is pretty quick.
fastest i've been in mine is bout 85 down a hill with the wind behind me. does accelerate faster than my m8s saxo n my other m8s ka, but they are weighed down wit loads of ice lol.
thanks for all your replies been a great help.
pandapower's an eye opener. that is 1 fast machine.
i have found a good website with panda bodykits on it, and thats
www.lester.it
it has some stuff for the old panda including skirts that work out about £60, a front bumper for bout £90 and a really nice rear spoiler, bit pricey though.
was wondering where bouts i could get hold of a citroen ax spoiler though, any ideas? i am on a budget lol. thanks
