spark plug socket and a ratchet.
It will look like a socket just a bit longer. usually in most socket sets. make sure it has a rubber bung inside though so you dont break the plug.
Tip, when replacing plugs its probably worth changing your HT leads.

and an extension bar.. Ideally a flexible one if you have a carb'd engine as trying to get the one out from under the fuel pump is a right pain, can't get the socket on straight.

I took the fuel injector unit off, only 4 hex bolts

You need a socket bendy think to access them all easily
Mmmmmmmm...never had that prob before...carb or injection..
Don't forget the size of spark plugs vary from car to car, so you need to be careful of the socket size if you buy a specialised plug removal tool.

very good point, mine were smaller. we used a socket for the old pugeot 204 i seemto remember. 14mm i think
i have to loosen the alternator to get spark plug 1 accessible
