Hi All
Does any body have any info on the service resetting on the new Panda. Mine is coming up to its first service, but I can not find any info on the service warning. Not sure if to Service myself or to get ripped off by a main dealer. I Think £125.00
for a first service is far to much to pay for a very low mileage much loved and very well maintained vehicle.
I don't think fixt price servicing is right for every body.

i thought with the new EU rules you can get the car serviced at any garage (vat reg, etc) they can stamp the service book and you're all good, certainly give fiat hq a call to confirm that, i went for the lazy option and gave the car to continental in tufnell park. as for the service reset (you getting the "spanner" too?!) dunno how a non franchised dealer gets rid of that......

When I had mine serviced at a main dealer no one could reset the service indicator!! They had to wait for their Fiat expert, who was on a course to come back, 2 days later. They wouldnt tell how they did it but I heard them mentioning it needed plugging in to the computer.

I think you will find by reading the service book that as long as you have the car serviced by a VAT registered garage your third year warranty will be honoured by the selling dealer. As I work for a vat registered independent garage that's why am thinking of servicing the car myself. please feel free to put me right if you think I am wrong. but I will still have the problem with the service reset. A quick call to the selling dealer (service reception) reveals yes we can reset it for you but the charge is £25.00 Sir. Any comments ?

You are allowed 1 non Fiat dealer service during the first three years. The garage MUST use genuine parts and be VAT registered, AND carry out the correct FIAT specification service. Ideally make sure the garage puts the part numbers on the invoice. Regarding service message obviously the additional cost to reset it has to be balanced with a possibly cheaper service.

Thanks for that NumanR what I really need is a copy of a genuine Fiat Panda Service check sheet, because the service book is I feel to vague there is no mention of ever replacing the transmitter battery plus loads of other stuff. any body feel like letting me have a copy of a service check sheet ?

If anybody finds this service sheet could it be posted here on a files area for us all to see. It would be very useful.

As far as i am aware as long as you have your car serviced by a VAT registered garage, they use genuine Fiat parts, and carry out the service to manufacturer's spec, using service book as a guide and stamp it, then there should be no warranty issues what-so-ever.

First 2 years are manufacturers warranty,
Third year is selling dealer warranty- any Fiat garage does the repair, claims from Fiat, Fiat claim back from selling dealer .

If you look in the service book, it does say that a low mileage, annual service is available for cars covering less than 12,000 miles in a year- personally I wouldn't bother as there is less done on this type of service.
I will get a copy of All service sheets available and post up in All sections, possibly get a mod. to make it a 'sticky' thread.

Only Panda's with 'Comfort level' dash panel have service reminders- these are the one's with a mode button as well as the clock one's. To reset this you have to use the 'Examiner' diagnostic machine.

Thanks for the reply I will look forward to seeing the genuine service sheet. As a matter of interest should the service reminder be showing when I first start up. Because its not, However it is counting down when I manually check using the buttons i.e. Service, miles or dd. Its now down to 13dd (Days).
I was expecting it to automatically keep flashing up to remind me. But it don't

Thanks again Fiattech Do fiat have a policy on me using a engine flush probably Forte

It is a condition of third year warranty.
