Looking at the press release it's a Panda fitted with Wind's wi-fi router/modem (the Wind/Tre company is a major mobile 'phone provider in Italy and also offers fixed-line services) for continuous connection to Wind's 3G/4G network for up to 15 devices, allowing 50GB of data transfer monthly. There's a lot of stuff about how marvellous this inter-connectivity is - music, data, etc - and suggesting some relationship to Fiat's 120th anniversary - mostly PR blurb - and how it will help to maintain the Panda as Italy's best-selling model.

The only wind that springs to my mind, on this momentous news, is a great big raspberry!

(Come to think of it, my Twinair makes little farty noises when going up through the gears in a spirited fashion. I think it must be a Panda Affected by Wind. )

In other news, as every FIAT salesman will tell you: "busy year". A touch down on 2018 but FIAT still hangs onto the 1% market share. In your face Porsche. Wonder how many were Pandas? It's an exclusive club.

As there's no "w" in the Italian alphabet and "vu doppio" (ie double V) ends up being pronounced "v" it doesn't really sound like anything special - makes as much sense as calling leisure wear "diesel" - how exotic is that?

Think the Waze early £12k and City Cross £13k so dread to think price of this one when start adding "diamond cut" style? alloys, climate, nav, winter pack and orange mirror casings. Come 6 months in, they'll wonder why they've not sold any........

As a comparison, there was a European spec Panda Pop in purple from memory. A bargain at £4850 on the road in our money. Which makes the list price here of just under £10k look a worse joke than you'll watch on ITV.......:bang:

Thanks. That explains why my kickstarter project for a new metrosexual cologne called 'Wee Willie Winky' failed to storm the Italian market. That and the lack of an edgy black and white 21:9 video filmed in the early-hours, post-party scooter ride through the dark streets of Jesi.
