Should work but it'll be underpowered. The jets in the 750 carb will be smaller than those in the 4x4 carb as it's a smaller capacity engine. It'll run lean. That is, too little fuel for the amount of air drawn in on each stroke.

Ok. Ta. So it will be on the slugish side, or won't go at all? Will having the choke out a tad help then? Would doing this cause damage?

Running lean won't do any damage but if you want to swap carbs permanently you'd be better off getting a direct replacement.

Many thanks. No is just a temp to get it home if I buy it. Not sure if its a spares, or a repairs project yet if I get it. lol.

If the carb is over fueling is that repairable? New jets? Don't know much about carbs.

Jon.

We're running a 750 carb on a cinq 1108cc engine and by god does it fly!

Can't see why it wouldn't run a 999cc engine...

But we had problems getting Sylvia to run but it's fairly cheap getting a car re jetted on a rolling road if it's not going too well
