General  Panda 4x4

General  Panda 4x4

Hello. Finally collected my car this evening. I won't go on and on but a stressful experience when the dealer called at 3 to say the car had some damage and I wouldn't be able to collect it.

Said I'd go after work to see the damage.

By the time I arrived they'd managed to get the dent removed (which they had obviously made an effort to get done as when they called they said he could only come on Monday).

In fairness to the dealer they'd even attached the number plate correctly.

I can see no trace of the dent.

I'll take some more photos tomorrow. Just wanted to give an update.

One thing I did notice my rear parcel shelf doesn't have any strings but does have some rubber and plastic clips. But looking at a panda at the dealers the rear shelf has some grommets in the edge which the string passes through. Mine doesn't have any holes or any grommets. I wondered if this is because I've the two seat rear seat option. Anyway. Least of my problems after the day I've had.

Bad news on the dent. If they got a dent guy to remove it though and you can't tell, I wouldn't worry. The same happened to my 500 on delivery.
Some of the dent guys are very skilled

Unsure on the parcel shelf, mine has strings but your take in it seems entirely feasible.

I'm looking forward to the pics :)

Totally agree deeyup, don't need to dwell on it, I didn't see it the night I called so do wonder if it happened at the dealers. As you say I've seen some great jobs done by dent repairers so not bothered if I can't spot it.

I'll take some photos of the parcel shelf, it could be the dealer gets the bits and they lost them lol I need to wait until another member gets the 50:50 rear seat option delivered to compare what they end up with.

Glad it's arrived (y)

It was probably a ding but they worried you calling it a dent!! Most dealers have a tame dent guy for all the parking dings - my Abarth had one which the dealer didn't spot (we nearly missed it too, but they got it sorted). It's usual and nothing to worry about - if it was a proper "dent" you'd have seen it that night.

Get those pictures up! :worship:

Come on philboo - lets see some pictures and PRONTO :D:D:D

I'd especially like to see the clever rear seats, the parcel shelf and anything else vaguely interesting!

Yeah that's what I thought but my dealer here on the iow accepted my order for the non live version (that doesn't mean its available of course! Lol). In view of what people are saying I may change to live version if the year 2 on subs are not extorsionate......
Still looking at late may early June for my orange 4x4....anyone want to buy a Saab 9-3 (vgc 53k) :)

Thanks. That seems reasonable. They prob chg that for a pc-based update on the non live version and without all the benefits of instant info on the go....I think I'll change my order.
All the chat abt the sliding seat is interesting as that's what I have ordered :)

Sorry I've had a very unproductive day. I've taken a few images of various parts of the car (in the rain) and uploaded a few from last night when I collected it as it was brighter.

I'm interested to know what others have with regard to a parcel shelf. You can see on my photos the rubber and plastic clips but on the only panda (non 4x4) the dealer had i could look at, the shelf had two grommets on the lip that meets the boot door. The cable attaches to the rubber clips under the shelf, comes through the grommer then clip to the plastic clips on the boot.

It'd be nice to know why mine is different.

I'll take more photos (hopefully off-road like certain other members ;) in future.

I also had to delete my photos from the pre-delivery as I didn't have enough space on the gallery section.

Well it's been a week and I've driven around 400 miles so far, average mpg is 42 which i'm quite happy with. I'm sure it will increase a little once the engine has loosened up. Took it along some tracks near me so thought I'd upload a pic of the panda in action :p

I think you must have the same spec as my car, apart from the colours :)

Sorry, should have linked to the album to make it easy to find them.

How long until your car arrives now ? I wish I could get the parcel shelf strings sorted. It is so minor but I frequently left the shelf up and set off driving in my last panda, then i'd look in the rear view mirror and suffer a D'oh moment.

Strange the 50:50 flex pack isn't on the configuration now. Maybe it was incorrectly priced.

With GPS live you also have to pay for the data streaming as you are moving along, can be expensive when abroad.

No, that's not right, there is no payment for data streaming.
Tomtom have a deal with Vodafone to use their network.

End users only pay for subscription to live if they want it.

My subscription has expired, but my tomtom will still send data via the Vodafone network to give traffic info to tomtom.

Ace pics there. The orange really is great!

The sliding rear seat looks handy. Weird to strings on your parcel shelf, but I'm sure the embossed pattern is different to mine. Maybe they supply a different one with the sliding seat option?

I'll take some pics of mine later to compare.

Btw, if you make a donation to fiat forum you get unlimited space for your photos
