im gona change the oil on my 2020 1.2 panda pop.. when i check omline with sellers there is a choice of 5/30..5/40 and wierdly 0/20.. anyone know the right one...?

The 1.2 FIRE engine ceased production in May 2020. So I think it is highly likely there was a switch to the new Firefly engine some time that year. That could explain the change in oil spec. I would stick with the 5W-40 for the 1.2.
That makes a heluva lot of sense. I would feel very nervous about putting such a low viscosity oil in a FIRE engine. So it's 5w-40 for Becky

does anyone know..was the change just for emmissions and mpg reasons and not a change in the internals of the engine??? id rather run 5/40 if no internal changes as thats the oil they first chose for the engine..not bothered about minor mpg or emmisions

Shell is wrong then.
my car is about a month into the change.. the hand book says 0/20 but on service the garage used the old spec of 5/40.. i wondered if the change in spec was purley for mpg and emmisisons gain as dont want to change new oil if i dont have to

I would say almost certainly. I dont know of changes to the engine that would necessarily require a change, but there may be some. Possibly a ruse to get cars to fail earlier so people buy electric....
I have run a few oils in the Pandas and will now stick with Quantum or Fuchs. Im 6 months post change and stil no recurrence of dry tappets on start UP. Our oil consumption is now negligable to nil so Im happy my forray to Petronas Syntium will never be repeated. I ran all my cars on mobil 1 probably 500k miles until it became so expensive it is just bad value. Its oil a bit of a lottery.
