Panda Panda 100HP project (cooperman style!)

Introduction

Right thought I would start a thread as there are a few mods happening to my panda and wanted somewhere to have them all in one place! I have owned my 100HP since 2010 and love it! She gets serviced at fiat evry year and had belts and water pump replaced last year. I wanted to start modding her but not go OTT as been there and done it before! Hopefully you guys like it!
So this is what I have done:

Really happy with the way the car is coming on! The rear end is looking nice and fat, will be looking at getting a silver rear fog light bulb to balance up the lights and looking at spacers the same as Demi has to fill the arches a bit more. All 4 tyres will be getting replaced also for Toyo T1R's as got some cheap front tyres put at the mo and had enough of them!! Lesson learnt!
While I don't love all the mods you've made I do generally like what you have done to your car especially the attention to detail. And I'm looking forward to getting the chance to take a look at it at auto italia

For all Cap's shortfalls on the forum, especially over the last few days, I can guarantee you he is living in Portugal, does own a yacht and a Panda.

It's a shame he didn't make the most of his second chance though, he had some useful advice and helpful ideas sometimes.

I'll agree with you there. He did brighten the place up (if only for a short while)...

Cool, it's not for everyone.
I must admit, I'm not keen on the stickers, but, I haven't done any customising since about 1980 and anyone who does must get a degree of credit for trying to make their car a bit different.

Perhaps more importantly, you aren't just slavishly following a trend with, for example, blacked out windows, huge exhausts, matt paint or a huge sub-woofer in the boot. Or indeed any of the other "tuning" mods that are doing the rounds.

So all credit to you and Keep on Trucking. I just nipped back to the '70s for a moment then. Actually, thinking about slavishly following trends, despite having a Chevette HS2300 when everybody else had Escorts or Sunbeam Lotus's (Lotii?) I did have 4 very large Cibie spots complete with white covers on the front of the Shove-it.

You clearly haven't learnt anything from your hiatus ... If you've got nothing to say that is of use, please refrain from using your keyboard! We are bored of your "inputs" on this site.
The irony is, and I love irony, that he missed the point. What happens if you paint the the threads of screws and then screw those back into plastic?

Yes, you might as well superglue them in. So the question wasn't whether they looked good or bad, but simply that once he'd screwed them back in they were never going to come back out again.

Ah well, I'll miss him. Does anyone know which yacht forums he frequents? I might join and troll him.

So he was screwed?

Breaking this kind of locking can sometimes be achieved by hammering the screwdriver in. But that's completely off topic here.

Like I said: 10% of CS's posts were very helpful, but for the other part he was just lurking to snap at everyone with a different opinion. Halfreading and thus misunderstanding in the proces.

That's all I aimed to do something abit different but to a good standard (y)
I am also please to say the screws come out fine!

You should do so - he seems to have been a forum tart for many years. He probably taught Tim Berners-Lee everything he knows.

Alas, now consigned to the salty depths, he will be telling Charon what an ugly heap of sh-te the ferry is as it meanders slowly across the Styx.

All hail the Cap'n and his technobabble mumbo-jumbo, much of which was interesting.

...........despite having a Chevette HS2300..........
I just realised on re-reading part of this thread that the "late" and (largely) un-lamented captain and I had something in common. In the part that deals with the quickshifter he admits to also having had a Chevette HS2300.

If I remember rightly, they were actually bolts rather than screws. I also seem to recall that he ended up just not replacing the air filter until it was so clogged that the thing would hardly run. He eventually gently teased the offending item off the carb with the aid of a medium sized crowbar. He replaced it with a pancake competition type doofah instead

That's all I aimed to do something abit different but to a good standard (y)

Presumably because you're not daft enough to paint the threads. My daft friend also tried to weld a small hole in a motorbike tank. Although he drained the petrol out via the petcock, he didn't think about the vapour...:bang:

Greek mythology and damning with faint praise all in the same post. You're too clever for this place. :)

Great to meet you and Demi, genuinely nice guys, good open conversation exchanging views and tips.

Cheers guys.

Currently working on a 'cooperman2' air intake setup using a cone, total so far looks around £13 but that is because I have the other intake pipes already.
All in looks about £70-£80 just waiting for the correct size pipe to replace the chrome mock up one, seems to all fit but could not run it due to not having the correct pipe. Once it comes will let you know results! (y)
