I was on my way home the other night and on the exit to a bend there was a badger sat in the middle of the road. In a split second I decided not to swerve as i might clip it with the wheel and break that so I went stright for it. BANG! so I thought here we go thats bound to have broken somthing looked at the underside not a scratch every thing is fine so as the title said

PANDA 1 BADGER 0!

It's a bit of a dilemma, do you swerve to avoid the wildlife, and pray that you don't leave the road/suffer tragic accident?

Or do you just carry on, puting your own safety above Mr & Mrs Doe? (Oh dear!)

Bearing in mind the tinfoil doors, roof and rusty engine bulkhead in my car - the badger would have to go!

Alternatively, I am sure that there is an argument for slower driving/better driver observation making such an incident impossible, but not from me!

The panda forum voice of reason

As I said it was right on the exit to a bend on a country road at night

Well i hit a badger on a 50cc trially bike and it just waddled off into the night whilst i was left to to pick myself and bike out of a hedge... so I think that badgers do get revenge!!!

Its not nice to hit animals on the road but it amazing the amount of people that swerve to miss an animal in the riad and hit a tree / car / people.

The tone of the post was a little off as I would have been a bit sad having hit a badge for the badger sake.... as for the local sum the ripped my wing mirror off  :p

calm it ..... (rubbish trimmed)

i hit a pigeon in the asda car park a little while ago, it made a nasty crunch sound and i went round the car park, i saw it wasn't dead, had just crunched its wings.

Drove back round to get it properly, but missed, so had to reverse over it. All the people in the c/p were just staring probably thinking "that sick man is reversing over pigeons!!!" - horrible.... i felt sick :(

However it is a tough call, swerving to miss something can be very dangerous i would be more inclined to go over it.

I also can sometimes have some bizarre humour.... but i'm sure the guy isn't proud he hit it, just a 'someone had to go situation' just phrased badly.

No more arguing or i lock this!!! (incidently, in the arcade 'Just Not Cricket' you get to beat badgers to death with a cricket bat... ;))

.... ok, i'll get me coat :D

Ben- I didn't have an issue with the original post it was the people who have obviously just signed up to the forum to try and cause trouble.

Anyways backing down and should really get on with some work...
