Pajero alternator issues

Hi all ,

Was welding on the pajero, and took out the alternator , was still charging but the battery light never came on( on ignition)

Took to a auto elec and he said regulator had gone,

Replaced the regulator, and still no battery light but is charging , turns out the car has blown the regulator on the 2nd alternator

What could be causing this??

Not took it back yet but need some knowledge on possible causes etc

you checked bulb for battery light?

Welding = voltage

When welding on a car - electrical sensitive equipment should be disconnected
ECU's, batteries, and even alternators

They dont like power surges which welding can cause

Yeah bulb tested , just looking for any solutions before taking it to a auto elec
