HI all, ive seen a bumper on eBay and the paint code is 258. Now my cars paint code is 507. From the pictures it looks alot like my colour. My question is, is there alot of difference between those two colours?? Btw it's yellow :)

258 is the broom yellow - common but fantastic colour yellow from the mk1 to the mk2b :) its splashed across alot of other fiats - coupe and brava/bravo's too!

For example 3 nice puntos in yellow

however i can see 507 listen in a few places, but it doesn't help with your query :(

Unlike most manufacturers who change paint colours frequently, Fiat appear to recycle theirs, often under different names. Buying a touch-up for an older model often brings one showing a new colour name, but is the right one.

With the two colour codes, go searching for touch-up paints and see if they both go to the same one. If not, this could be a cheap way to compare.

they are different
the gialla is more yellow alla broomy
the other code is a more lighter milky yellow
they look chalk and cheese when you put them together

All places are different

If you can remove it so they can get great access - or remove it so it can go on a spray bench, then it might help

I'd be tempeted to sand the whole bumper down as well in prperation as well, ensure all damage is removed and a light mist of primer to help

Good tips, but I'd recommend visiting bodyshops with the car complete, let them see it. Then ask about a price if you remove it and can you flat it first. Some may like that idea, some may not. I've met some very helpful sprayers, and some stroppy ones. If you flat it and it is not to their liking, they may wish to prime and flat themselves and add more to the price.

For every unhelpful one, there'll be a helpful one around the next corner.

Another thought, some of the dent removal guys do small spray jobs. Might be worth a phone call or two.

It also depends if your worried how the car looks

personally - off the car you wont have to mask it up
its only a few nuts and bolts - you can get full access and no stupid lines as they've peeled the stuff back!

Well the problem is the paint code sticker under the bonnet is missing. I spoke to fiat and they gave me the code 507, nothing about what shade

All the Fiats I've had, the paint code is on a sticker on the tailgate, or inside the tailgate aperture. 1981 Mirafiori, inside the boot; 1983 Argenta, inside the boot; 1987 Panda 750, on the side of the tailgate visible when opened; 1993 Panda CLX, same as the 750, 2000 Seicento, same again; 2003 Punto, same again; 2006 Panda, same again.

Perhaps you are looking at the wrong end of the car.
