right ma cars has been over heating and cutting out.

its a 1.4 12 valver (sorry it aint out special) lol

it runs for about 7 mins and heats up in to the red on the display and cuts out.

the radiator fan relay is missing so i bridgesd the two wires so that the fan works constantly

still the problem is there.

the water and oil levels are fine.

i believe there is summet that bleeds air from the system if so where is it n how do i do it?

i think its unlikely the gasket has gone as there is no creamyness either in the rad cap or the oil filler cap.

is it likely that the car needs a new sensor of some sort?

is this a common fault?

can anyone help me please???

Sounds like you have an airlock in your system, dont drive it till you've fixed it or you might cause a HG failure.

1) Follow the hoses off the radiator and locate the bleed screw, is a screw valve in the hose, open it, start the engine squeeze the hose in all places to work the air blockage through. Check level in rad after etc and repeat if necessary.
2) Get a replacment relay from a scrap yard, take a wad of them so 1 will work. Or FIAT £9.

If that doesnt sort it, you might have a knackered pump

it runs for about 7 mins and heats up in to the red on the display and cuts out.

its very unlikely that the coolant could reach such a high temperature so quickly. for that reason i would not assume the engine is actually overheating, it is also possible that the gauge is wrong, due to a faulty coolant temp sensor.
if the coolant is reaching that temperature so quickly it shows that there must be circulaiton problems. things that can prevent adequate coolant circulation include air locks, blockages and faulty water pump.
you need to figure out of it is really overheating or not.

ive had a go at it and took off the thermostat valve on the side of the engine i placed this in boiling water and found that the valve never opened i think this is the problem so im gonna rip the valve out and try it for 20 minutes see if it over heats then ill no if this is ****ed if i need one itl fit in ma poket at the scrapheap when i go for my new windowscreen lol
