I think im gonna quit this forum for a while.

I dont agree with the new harsh way its being moderated with regard to one particular poster, so im gonna take a side line.

See you all around, TTFN.

Dillinger.

Sorry to hear about that Dill...are you still going to the meet?

I do agree with you in a way Dill, but after all the crap he has posted in the past few months, something had to be done...

Shame, because the poster you refer to was a right pain.
The forum seems to be returning to its former self.
Please, think again.

Re: Re: ...Over and out (for a while)

It will be a shame to see you take a back seat as it were Dill, but I can appreciate why you are boycotting the site, I honestly thought I was the only person on this forum NOT to have been offended by any of Double R's posts, and the majority of the time thought he provided some light relief to some matters. I personally think that everyone jumped on the band wagon and accused him every time someone didn't like what they read, no matter how it was meant.

Re: Re: Re: ...Over and out (for a while)

Shame you think that way Dill, the forum is returning to its former self and is the better for it.
See you on the 8th, presume you will still be coming down for it.

Dill it may seem a little heavy handed but that certain someone really does deserve it in my opinion.
HE has brought the need for moderators to this site and has brought his own treatment by the moderators on himself.
I'm sorry you feel you have to sit back for a while i hope we see you back soon.
You are still going on the 8th aren't you??
And thanks for the mail but unfortunatly the coupe seats look like they will go on Saturday.

Dill!!!! :(

We are only moderating one person in particular due to the fact that we were loosing regulars. Dont want to see you go as a long standing member of the forum.

Looks like we were in a no win situation after old RR. Leave him here - we lose members. Get rid - we lose members. All caused by RR himself.

Would be really sorry to see you go Dill just as the forum is getting back on its feet.

Hope you come back soon and make sure you still come to the meets.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: ...Over and out (for a while)

I agree with you Dill, the forum is turning very dull. I know not everyone was a fan of RR but at least he added an edge to the forum, it now seems very bland. I liked it with all the banter and **** flying around.

Shame.

I don't agree with whats been done either, it all felt a bit 'Lord of the Flies' for a while back there but reading Double R's posts won't save me money or time but using the forum already has. No competition.

All the best,
Marko

Re: Re: ...Over and out (for a while)

I would just like to add my thoughts for what they are worth, probably not much thanks to inflation:)

I have always been a believer in free speech and no censoreship and I always thought that if you didnt like somebodys posts, then you could always ignore them, which is mostly what I tried to do. However in my opinion it had got to the point, where nearly every post just dropped back into name calling. Some guy would post a problem with his car, and old double RR would pop up with "what do you expect, its a crappy fiat" kind of reply.

Now I have never been one for posting totally sensible posts or technicle ones for that matter, simply because I aint technicly minded, plus I have a weird sense of humour. As far as I can see, no one is stopping anyone posting off topic posts, my last one concerened some right old bat flogging topless pics on e-bay ( and no, I didnt win), so as far as I can see, any topic is allowed, and the mods only step in when it all starts getting a little bit personal, repetative or insulting

Be carefull with the praise Nige, people will think me and you are mates:)

Before people get all misty eyed about the good old days, maybe they should remeber some of the posts we used to get, day after day..

NUFF SAID:)

Point of order

As an ex-army signaller, you cant really say "over and out"

"over" means I have stopped talking, you can reply, while "out" means I have fineshed talking and switched off, so "over and out" would mean I have stopped talking, its your turn to speak, but I have switched off and cant hear you:)

You can tell I am bored at work today

Re Point of Order

Technically incorrect but now I see why people say it - it's now your turn to talk but I'll be ****ed if I'm going to listen to a word of it. Great fun.

As far as RR, difficult decision but I think someone had to do something. Maybe this way wasn't ideal but it was something that's worked. Now if we could have someone that expressed contrary opinions( to keep it interesting) but without repeating how crap Fiat's were the whole time......

Re: Re: Re: Re Point of Order

To be honest, the only problem I have with the choice of moderators, is that some of them are so ugly, lol, wouldnt you agree, International Man of Mystery?

Re: Re: Re: Re Point of Order

RR will be back, he will come back in a few weeks with a diffrent name and hope we have forgotten his ip address.

as for the moderation of this forum, i personally like it, i think it is that certain individual that forsed the change and not that individual was removed, the forum is slowly returning to how it was and it is 10X better for it.

Re: Re: Re: Re Point of Order

The diference is RR was generally good humoured whereas amit was a ****. I'd like to launch the free RR campaign, i'm laying down some tracks to raise money for this greatest of causes.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re Point of Order

To many posts have been wrecked by senseless bickering. Mainly from one person but others as well. IMO the bravo guide states the rules at the top of the page! Stick to them or don't bother visiting!
The moderators are trying to got this forum back to how it was - fantastic.
Once the idiot(s) have gone the moderating will not be needed but untill then MOD ON!
