OT - Whats it worth

Hi all,

Just thought one of you may have a Parkers to hand..

Someone has reversed into my second car and damaged the passenger side door (probably new door and respray)

Volvo S40 1.9 TD 100K

Dealer service history to 79K
Serviced 3 times since last one 500mls ago included
Full service (at Volvo Specialist)
Cambelt and all Tensioners
Power steering belt and pully
MOT
6mths TAX

Spec - Colour = RED (Drivers side weather'd)Full Grey leather
AirCon
Cruise Control
6 CD Changer
AIR BAG & SIP Protection

Any ideas on what its worth as i think the insurance company my look to write if off as uneconomical to repair...

has it done anything to the rear arch aswell or wheel? reason i ask,similar thing happened to the g/f's bro's car.they reckon the rear wheel was unsafe so they wrote it off,was an omega 2.0 16v.he was guitted.

Sorry forgot to say its a 1996 (P)reg

Damage is only to fron Passenger side door took it to bodyshop today and they said it would be new door spray and colour blending with wing and rear door so probably cira £600+ for the job anyone agree...

Well the 3-Party Insurance company have authorised the repair, bummer was hoping to recoup some cash out of this car... nevermind the TANK goes on...

Oh and just out of interest i asked the bodyshop to quote me on a respay of the drivers side as the laquer is peeling on the bonnet, wing and top of both O/S doors...

£2500 + VAT - Are they having a laugh...

Hellfrauds me thinks - couple of cans primer and Volvo Red bit of sand paper, £30 should do the trick.

May not be a colour match but better then £2500
