i have been offered a unit for £350 inc vat and im thinking bout it to store carparts and stuff, what im going to do is do it from home see if it brings in much money. im temted to do it but thats alot of money to add on to my mortgage wich is £485 per month then there is my bills, would i make more than £500 per week by going in full time? im not sure it would be nice bt i doubt it will be so because the tax man and vat man will wantthere share too lol.

looking for ideas on both sides of the fence sort of a cons and aginst list.

not botherd about negative comments as they will let me see it on both sides.

Hi Donny..

Are you setting this business up as a limited company or are you just going at it sole trader?

yeah mate but he ended up a millionaire didnt he
life is too short to be sensible

RR?!?! is it just me or have i not seen you on here for AGESSSSSSSSSSS?

As much as i have to gain from ou talks about parts i dont think its a reliable income.

unless you find a market, i have a friend who breaks coupes, as they are worth more in parts then complete cars... if you can find a loop hole, a gap and specialise i would say stick with what you know.

find a loop hole (honda s2000 was a good one a couple o years ago) and you will be sitting very well, but the loop hole is hard to find... and before anyone says it, bravos arent it.

Although another friend breaks alfas and seems to be doing well and he has started that from scratch!

i said to my perfomance parts supplier today that i wasnt going to quit work just yet and he told me he did the same as me until he got to know the right people and started making more money and eventualy owning his own buisness and getting stuff from manufactures so he made more money, im thonking i should see how it goes first even if it just an extra 50 squid a week its sumat int it but i dont think ill take the unit just yet cos i would need a constant supply of customers. i know jap cars bring good money but there is alot doing it now.

Good sign that you've thought about the tax man and not forgotten him - but I think he can wait a year or so before wanting his pound of flesh, so hopefully you'll have some decent profits by then. :) (Local tax office/C.A.B. leaflets will give you exact info.)

lol bieng cis 4 i cant not think about the devil sporn thats called inland revenue lol

i think you have to gross £60000 before the vat man wants to dry dock you lol

BTW - VW/Audi, Scooby and new MINI owners, e.t.c. are all well used to being stuffed, (overcharged) for their cars and noncy accessories, (lol) - So maybe you should concentrate selling bits to them for big profits :) :)

-Lets face it, selling stuff to tight wad FIAT owners like us ain't gonna make no-one rich in a hurry.... lol

lol that is what i was thinking cos i can get all the after market stuff for most cars
pluss wheels and bodykits

You say you own your own House ?

So cant you maybe Buy/build a large shed to keep all the parts in, only if you have a garden ofcourse.

Handy coz, you will always know what you have, and couriers can come collect parts right from home .

the garden isnt big enough mate, im gunna store it in my basement until its full. i have thought about building a shed at my mum and dads house but ant asked them yet lol
