OT - Urgent Computer Help Needed!

Hi Guys

My PC is currently driving me insane.

It keeps runnings really slowly and taking ages to perform even simple tasks.

When I go into the "Task manager" (ctrl + alt + del) it tells me that 98-99% of the CPU is taken up by "NMIndexStoreSvr.exe" - whatever the hell that is?!

When I cancel this process (within Task Manager) the PC goes back to normal and everything is fine but then no more than 15-20 minutes later the same thing happens again.

Please help me someone!

Hi there Chris, I think that's a bug with Nero software. Easiest thing to do is to disable Nero Scout by opening it and unchecking everything in the settings.

Failing that try disabling Nero Scout by going to programs - Nero 7 - Tools - Nero Scout (choose disable).

Next go to your C drive - program files - common files - ahead - lib. Locate the file NMIndexstoresvr.exe and then rename it NMIndexstoresvr.bak.

That should do the trick. Hope that helps.

Wont changing the file extension to .bak stop it opening properly?
