Well, definitely impressed by the overclock - I had a look at a P4 Prescott when they came out and was completely unimpressed by them. They actually ran hotter than the original P4 they were meant to replace! It looks like Intel have sorted it now, but I'd still go for an Athlon 64. My 3200+ goes like the proverbial off a shiny shovel, particularly when running Suse Linux in 64 bit mode
Thanks for posting the screenshot and being honest Ian
I have verified the CPU-Z checksum and this appears to confirm the screenshot as valid, before anyone questions whether it was photo-shopped.
I was pretty sure that even if you did achieve 4.18GHz, which is physically possible, it wouldn't stand up with simply stock air cooling. 3.8 is closer to the mark, although I imagine that runs pretty darn hot. Prescotts were a huge improvement over the Northwoods but the heat issue is a pain.
I can't get too much more out of my A64, mainly due to the budget mobo I am running. I have it at 2.33GHz which is comparable to a P4 running at 3.5GHz, approximately (PR3495).
