A thought struck me when in a Taxi on the way back from the pub last night. Since all Taxi drivers now seem to have a SatNav, do London Taxi drivers still have to do 'The Knowledge'?

SatNavs are not programmable to do 29 miles for a 6 mile journey.

I dunno, i think my sat nav could do that... it has told me to perform a u-turn on the a1 before...

my uncle is a cabby, and he does have a sat nav in the car but only uses it when is needed. so its on but not set to go anywhere.
