Ive been trying to convert and burn the Lost avi files to dvd so they'll play on my stand-alone dvd player!
Whether i burn to hisc or hard drive, eventualy the sound is out of sync to the pic. The sound ends up being between 1 to 2 seconds behind!
Any quick fix or better software? Was also trying roxio 8, however to convert and burn 2 episodes onto hard drive was taking ages. I think 22% of the project was complete, but this took 3 hrs, so canceled it!

lol, i dont know, but i'm about to burn some lost episodes to dvd tonight so i can download some more! so i hope Nero which i have copes ok!

I have all season 1 and 2 and episodes 1 to 5 of season 3 :). Looking forward to Wednesday for the next episode.

As someone said above Nero is the best software to burn/rip pretty much anything and is very good for dvd video.
Time to encode and burn depends on the specification of you computer (processor, ram, and dvd/cd writer). You also need enough space on your hdd so the dvd image can be stored temporarily whilst it is being encoded. Lack of free space on the system drive (usually C:) can also cause things to run slower than they are supposed to be.

Are the episodes audio/video in sync when you play them on your pc? Sometimes episodes are accidently released out of sync because they rush to get them uploaded before anyone else. If using bittorrent you may notice some are labelled 'NUKED' which means there is something wrong with the file (bad video, bad sound, etc) - if this is the case have a look for a 'PROPER' release.

Some players can re-sync the audio with the video - the XBOX Media Centre player can do this.

ta for help, the original avi files are perfect, just when i use nero to bloody convert it messes up!

if the sound goes out of sync its usualy means you have converted to a different format

pal=25fps
ntsc=27.97fps or something stupid like that

but just the 2 frames difference will make the sound goe out of sync evetually just make sure its pal when converting

ooooh.
Well i assume it was recorded in america, nd thats ntsc isnt it. Should i be using ntsc when burning?

No, it should be PAL

I use Cucusoft AVI to VCD DVD MPEG Converter Pro to convert from AVI to VIDEO_TS files, then DVD Shrink to create an ISO image, then DVD Decrypter to burn the ISO image to the dvd (which plays in all standard dvd players)

The cucusoft program has an option to sync all frames to audio throughout conversion and I know what you mean about the timing being out but ive never had a problem with cucusoft.

Software and serial code is avaliable on limewire
