How'ye all,

Bit OT, but recently i was working on a rally car, a G3 escort (escort mk3) which had a lovely FIAT twin cam 2 litre engine. It was fitted with jenvey throttle bodies, and a DTA engine management system. The injector setup on these looks a bit weird. the wiring loom for the injectors is looped from injector to injector, and on the circuit diagram provided by DTA, it appears as if all the injectors are wired in parallel, so that they all open up simultaneously. Is this possible, or are they actaully wired and fired sequentially ?
It all seems to work rather well anyway. Wonder would a twin cam RWD bravo be possible :)

i've heard of this before i think its called batch injection. i don't see the reason behind it but if it works...

Batch injection works well. Its simpler as it does not need a cam sensor. In some applications there is no difference in performance between batch and sequential.

RWD bravo would be a nightmare, lots of metal cutting.

would be bloody great for drifting though :D

So it is actually a 'done thing' then. but how does an engine cope with the extra fuel that will be injected on cylinders which are not on the intake stroke ?, e.g. the injector squirts fuel into a port where it is not yet needed, then when its actually time to intake, the cylinders get a bigger dose of juice. Does this not make it run horribly rich and have **** fuel consumption ? I must investigate further. hmmm.

thanks all,

Owen.

The valves are closed, the fuel just sits in the intake waiting for the valve to open.

It gets no more fuel than it needs.
