OT- Computer Data cable help needed

Hiya i have just brought a data cable for my mobile Sharp GX25, i'm trying to set it up but when i go to install it it says

'The USB driver has not been found, please install USB driver first'

So i went through the windows 'Add new hardware' setup, got to the end and it says

'windows cannot find the necessary software'

can anyone help?

oh also the setup disc is in the computer
