Wondered if anyone could give me some advice.

I'm new to downloading stuff and burning CDs, etc...

I've figured out how to download stuff and can burn CD's, but how the hell do you burn downloaded films, TV shows, etc that are on your computer onto blank DVDs.

I have all the necessary hardware. (DVD rewriter)

I use Windows Media Player for burning CDs but this doesn't work for DVDs.

I'm ok with computers but not great when things get technical!

Someone please help as this is driving me mad.

Thanks guys.

Probs best to get Nero software...

That has the facility for CD & DVD burning.

Are you meaning when you get .avi files sometimes reffered to divx xvid etc? As you need to convert there files to atype your dvd player can read.

Use dvdsanta, avitodvd or nero has showtime i think its called.

Or buy a divx dvd player for £25! As no need to convert! Thants what i did saves me lots of time etc! Although i was needing one for my room.

You may also come accross .bin and .cue files, these are read by nero and will burn straigth to a cd (yes cd) and can be read by most dvd players. Commonly called KVCD do a search one's by with the TUS group are worth a look. ;)

Hope this helps.

Freeware.

Chris,

have a look at this. Go to www.snapfiles.com, click the freeware tab at the top right of the page. Click Multimedia then CD/DVD Burning Tools. Check out DeepBurner. It should do what you want and all for free.
