OT - Bora - Upgraded Disks

Last time I took my Bora to be Serviced (5 months ago), Volkswagen, Loughborough said that my car was perfect, apart from Slightly Worn disks.

I spoke to a few people and they said it was nonsense, however I decided an upgrade was in order since the standard disks are having problems with the 180BHP upgrade

The TT's 302mm Disks fit straight onto the Bora (Gotta love VAG) complete with TT calipers.

Cleaned the car, but not the wheels ! Need to get myself some stuff

The difference however is unbelievable - Bora's should come with these Brakes as standard !

Shame they wont fit on Brava's

Out of curiosity what did it cost you and did you use new parts or secondhand?

When you purchase a TT, you can opt for "Upgraded Brakes" package. The originals which are on a TT get chucked away, or as some bloke does, sells them on e-bay as upgrades for other VAG cars.

I think I paid £240 for the lot brand new.

Calipers, Disks, Brake pads, and new hoses (but old ones fit anyway)

I think originals are 280mm on a Bora. They really do make a massive difference though.

Just called VW.

For an 80,000 mile Service + MOT = £325.

Lovely.

Last time it was half that. lol.
