General Original Subwoofer box

Doc, you seem to forget I have seen your house and spoken with Beck's, you are minted, have no dependants and a small mortgage, whereas I have 2 children, a wife that does not work, a part time contract job and a dog (up until a few weeks ago), SO GET YOUR VISA CARD OUT!!!! :D

Was just flicking through the b's for sale on autotrader and came across this mod, looks like a home grown effort but quite good all the same............

I have an original speaker box which I intend to fit. I am going to replace the speakers in the box first and maybe the amp.

Does anyone have advice on what would be an okay amp?
Don't want to spend much. Does this look okay?

Also the current speakers are have 4 wires on each. Not sure why. Any ideas.

Thanks Doc for pointing this thread out (y)

I picked up the correct speaker box connection wire from Fiat and then removed all the amp and speakers from inside the box. By doing this I can still unplug the speaker box as it still has the factory connectors. I fitted the amp in the boot and new speakers in the box. I also added some tweeters as well while I was at it.

Head unit, 12 CD changer, 4x tweeters, 4x mids, 1x 10" sub, two amps. The kit I have is nothing special at all but i did it to make a start on all the cables that need to be run as thats a big job on a Barchetta.

At some point I will upgrade all the kit and make a nice amp mount in the boot. It's on the list hehe.

Surely a well set up pair of mids and tweeters accompanied with a sub would be enough!?

In all of my cars, some saloons even I have had this set up. I use quality components and competition amps though.

aaahhhh! I have been looking everywhere to shed light on why the speakers in the sub box have 4 wires connecting each speaker to the amp. Am I missing something simple. Normal speakers have a left and right channel connection. Are the other two wires delivering power or something?

I was thinking of just changing the 2 speakers and keeping the built in amp - just for the time being anyway.

No point Nicholasb the amp is shocking in the bass speaker box.

The noise in the cabin of a Barchetta is way above that of a normal hard top car. Also the Barchetta has little space for a good set of mids, if you want a nice sound at 70 MHP or with the hood down you have to do a bit more work then just swapping the mids in the foot wells over.
