Oh.. I was enjoying looking in every now and then to view your rant. I almost feel slightly let down that you actually went ahead and picked it up:).

Looks great though Mister relevance!

Well that host sucks. Slow download and when I try to view full screen Firefox blocks it as a spam popup. :ROFLMAO:.

Car itself looks good though.,
It's my old ISP in Australia and they're usually very fast but seem to be having issues at the moment. They're quite fast usually! Honest :p

Thanks :p

I can pretend that Fiat still haven't bloody delivered my car if you want :D

Now for some of the negatives. There is a bit of a gouge on the plastic on the inside of the drivers door panel, a bit of a scuff on the passenger door panel and a few other little scuffs plus it's got the little rust spots that were reported in this thread -> https://www.fiatforum.com/500/168418-new-fiat-500-rust-spots-what-ditergismog.html

I'm sure I'll get it sorted in the end.

I think thats a Ka under a fiat 500 cover :D
Well today is a little milestone. 20k miles!

A bit of maths says
£2176.22 of fuel, 300 for winter tyres, 900ish odd for insurance, 30 for road tax, £130 (or something near enough before anyone points out a slightly different value I posted in the past :p ) for a service.

If my maths is correct it's costing me 17p a mile to run the thing if insurance is taken into consideration although that's the whole amount for 2 years as I try to pay upfront each year.

What's gone wrong? Not a lot really. Gearshift gaiter broke a clip and they replaced the whole gaiter, the washer system has a valve which needs replacing and I think Blue&Me is acting up moreso than usual but no showstoppers and certainly nothing lifethreatening :)

I do regret speccing the 16" wheels a little. Not because of the ride which I'm now used to and will eventually sort with decent dampers, but because it kills my fuel economy! I average mid to high 40's on summer tyres and am getting over 50 on the narrower winter tyres. But the car does have shedloads of grip on the nice wide tyres so it's not all bad.....

As you can see it's giving an average of 56.7 indicated now which I guess will translate to 53 or so which is quite good considering that most of my travel on this tank has been with a passenger as I went down to Llandrindod Wells (urgh, boring place) with the wife and have been giving someone a lift to work for most of this tank. The curious Daniel inside is actually considering buying a set of steelies with tyres from a pop and seeing what it'll do but then again how ****ing dull does that sound?

Also managed to flatten the battery today by being a bit of a fool and charging two phones whilst playing a CD with the DRL's on and the fan blowing for a good hour and a half or so...... Let the car stand for 10 minutes and it started which was a lucky escape :D

That cant be £900 for a year and a half insurance?

How old are you?
I payed £159 for the first year and it has gone up to £160 this year...

Sounds rather sensible to me. Expect to see 60mpg+ on the trip, & around 55mpg actual:D

Oh, and half price replacement tyres, too.

Well I've had higher than 55 actual with the 195's on so I'd expect 60 or so :p

Tyres aren't that much cheaper though

900 (probably less, I think it was 450 the first year and 400 this year) for 2 whole years :)

That's a bargain :ROFLMAO: mine was £512 last year and £502 this year! Living just outside Birmingham doesn't help though...

Well another boring update :p

22k miles on the clock as of today. 22k actually came up just as we pulled up to the dealership to have a bit of a nose around for another car. Wifes Subaru is having a few little issues and really needs to go off the road till there's enough money spare to just rip the interior and engine out and give it some proper attention. Anyway I digress, the 500 may be getting another Fiat family member. We both quite fancy another 500 but it'd have to be a non-BNW car and something without the lounge seats as they're horrible IMHO and it'd have to have non-lounge wheels to. Wife saw a BNW Panda 100hp tonight which she quite liked (she hates standard Panda's). I quite fancy a Bravo T-jet though, or even a dismal if I have to  A Panda 4x4 would also be nice but not many for sale at the moment!

Unfortunately I'm on a temp contract at the moment which ends at the end of March so what we want may be somewhat academic

But if all goes well the 500 should have another Fiat brother, sister or cousin if all goes well.
