Hi !

The car is a Fiat Bravo from 2007, 1.9 88kw 120 Ps Mulitjet
Diesel. One off the first there are sold from Fiat. The Enginecode
is 192A8000 (this Engine was also in the older Stilo Modells).

I changed the Glowplugs yesterday and i discoverd an open hole on
the left side of the Engine located next to the Waterflange (see the attached
Picture).

The car loses no water or oil trough this hole and no Air appers to be blow

out or sucked in to the hole.

The Levels of Water and Oil are ok and there is no error Warning in
the Display and no Error Code is stored.

Can anyone tell me for that this hole is and why it is without any Plug
or cover ?

Thanks in advance (sorry for the bad Englisch - i am from Germany)

Yes it has a metrik screw thread but in the Online Parts Catalog it
is nothing to find that it would fit in there.

I hope really someone know for that this hole is ... i have the Car in
an optimal Condition (liked new - painting, interieur and engine) and
it bothers me that i dont know thats missing there or that this hole has
to be for ...

I searched in the Internet for a Picture of this Enigne and i found this

from an Stilo there the hole is also present :

May be you can lift the engine from there. In the opposite side you have also hole where the support engine is.

Hi and thanks for Answers so far.

I dont thing it is for mounting because on the internet you can find engine the same Partnumber 192a8000 without that strange hole ... all from stilo and bravo

On the other side of my Engine is no similar hole, i know that because i
changed the Timing Belt last year.

Hi,

i tried that but even i use the Flashlight all i see is a black hole,
the phone is too big to get close enough to the Hole and the Zoom
function is also not helpfull.

I insert a long flexible cable ties in the hole and down it goes about
1,5 cm , to left side (direction to the Water flange) 3cm
and to the right side15 cm (could be endless but there seems to be
something in the Way).

As i pulled the cabel ties out there were no dirt, water or oil on it.

Today after work i drove to a Fiat workshop in my Town and even the
Master of the Mechanics there had no Idea that this hole is for ...

here is a picture of an 192a8000 Bravo/Stilo without the hole ...
