Hi could any one please tell me where the oil pressure relief valve is on my 1991 diesel none turbo ducato. I’ve looked but can’t seem to work out where it is thank you
Not the most common engine even back then , although it does appear to have been used in Citroen and Peugeot as well as Fiat of that era.
Looking at a photo of engine I am guessing the oil pressure relief valve may be on or near the oil filter housing area.
What was the reason for the query, as oil relief valves are not a common solution to engine problems.

The oil pressure is to high it’s 40psi at idle and 80 psi when reaves up this is when hot then it starts to make a knocking sound I’ve looked for the valve but don’t seem to be able to find it starting to think it’s in the oil pump itself

ON the 2.8 I believe it is on the large housing bolted to the side of engine by 6 long bolts . The housing has the mounting for the oil filter/brake vacuum pump/power steering pump/injector pump etc. and sometimes the oil filler on some versions, such as early Iveco Daily's.
However I suspect your engine is a different type so this may be of no help.
