I finally acquired my UT yesterday. Actually my bro went to take it home. It was 23.30 when i returned from a business trip and went to see it. It was in a fellows mechanics shop. My brother delivered the car to the shop before anybody from home saw it.
It is a 1986 Mk I. It was in customs yard till 1998. I don't know yet when it was imported.
I still don't know how i decided to buy this pile of parts loosely screwed together but, believe me there are lesser UTs than Ferraris in Turkey, otherwise i would look for a better one.
NOW, PLEASE HELP ME?!...
She is in miserable shape. Luckily it is not hit so bad to get its geometry spoiled.
Well, wish me luck.

Ain't it funny that seats are in great condition!..

Sorry for answering so late, i actually don't know how to join a forum. I have just been checkin' what's new...

SteveNZ,
are you sure about the seats? I said i didn't know if they were the original ones, but i also doubt if the previous owner to take the pains to recover them. İnterestingly, the covering job is much better than i expect from local upholstery shops. But if yes, i still don't know where are the existing ones from.

JJhepburn, Serin,
headlights are Tipo ones which are plentiful around. The previous owner seems to have had a slight bump to damage the headlights and the front grille. Any replacement Mk I grille simply does not exist in Istanbul. I wonder why he didn't switch to Mk II headlights and grille, that would add some to my tiny budget...

And, Turboned,
The engine is being rebuilt. Is there anyone to tell me if NA Uno 1.4 ie pistons fit my engine?

Thanks for all inputs,

Cheers:)

The seats seem to be original, at least the shape of them.

Actually, I don't think your Uno is in that bad condition, my one was a lot worse when I bought it.

Or perhaps the pictures are not telling the truth?

Well, at least it's got right geometry, nothing to be straightened. Engine has been suffering from inadequate repairs and non-original parts. The only thing makes me worry is rust. I don't know where and how bad it is. After getting her back rolling healthy again, it will be time for bodywork. the drivers door is quite bad, wheel arches are gone, and there are no new or used parts for Uno 3dr around.
But, YES, you made me feel better:D I hope to take close care of her this weekend, so we all see how she really is.

Someone has beaten me to the bumpers! I like them painted like that, though the front bumper appears to have been modified for a giant intercooler. Maybe you will have to refit a similar intercooler.

The seats will have been recovered, because the original material turns to spaghetti. You can see that the sides are original but the top surface is 'personalised'.

What interested me in the interior photo is that your car has the (rare?) check panel. In the centre of the instruments is a graphic that indicates open doors, low coolant level, low oil level, and bulb failures. I imagine that getting such a thing working again will be an interesting challenge.

As to the rest of the car, it doesn't look bad, but I think you should go for the full strip and rebuild, since it looks like it has been resprayed in the past (the bubble of rust on the driver's door...)

I'm sure you can get some new front lights sent over from any European country - they are not expensive these days... I don't think a Mk2 front is the way to go (having looked at this myself) - there are lots of parts that are different and so fitting it all is a bit of a bodge.

How is the engine? They are pretty tough!

Maybe you can import new FIAT panels from India or South Africa? ;)

Hi Alex!
Check a closer photo of the dash!
I didn't fully checked whether the check panel works, because i don't have the manual and i didn't know what was it for. But, i think it does.
After sitting in the customs yard for maybe ten years my car was sold to its previous owner. Then i think it was sprayed by poor quality of craftsmanship. Hope to strip her and repair all the rust, then respray. The worst visible rust is on the drivers door. For the headlights, i think i could afford to import them from Europe, but it seems soo expensive to go the same root for body panels. Mk II was produced here in Turkey for about six years, then Mk II upgrade will be more favourable especially for unexpected future repairs. I have checked your posts for the conversion and know you gave up. Can you give me a summary of neded parts? At least i hope to build a stable and straight looking front part.
All the best,

Emin

There seem no serious gadgets. Since i haven't seen mine working yet, i am happy because if it's not working, repair won't be so hard, i presume. If it is working properly, bulb and door warnings can be useful. But other than those, it just for show.
