Hi Classic 500 lovers, I'm new here.

My little sister has recently purchased a 1970 Italian import Fiat 500L, that she plans to "have restored".
Her target is Cream with the ubiquitious Green & Red stripe.
As her "Big brother" I have always been a keen diy mechanic, but have never ventured into this particular area. I'm hoping to be able to give her pointers, and maybe even lend her project some more "hands-on" assistance too (if I can find time).
I'm thinking CDI ignition to start with, and an alternator ? (if I can find a dead Fiat 126 somewhere) That rear end looks suspiciously low too ?? etc..
Any recommendations and/or observations gratefully received. ( Please :) )

Anyway, some pictures of the car as she has just brought it.:

P.S. Should I start a thread, recording the project as it progresses ?

have a look through some of he resto threads you will see all the horrors to be uncovered so you can look at those areas...
Basically if it is an Italain import there is a strong possibility of some dodgy rest work...
