Hi,
I have a 150 t-jet and I seem to be getting different oil levels when checking, hot and cold, anyone else had this issue?
if so when should i check my oil hot or cold? as I don't want to over fill

thanks

Check when cold ,when the oil is hot it expands therefore giving u a different level

It takes more than a minute for all the oil to drain into the sump. Leave it 15mins minumum to get a true reading.

Quite normal to get different readings hot and cold.If checking for top up purposes always check when engine cold and car is on level ground.:)

The manual says 5 minutes, that means the min-max marks are based on that. So the only "true" reading is if you do it 5 minutes after stop.

The only true reading is if you do it when its been sitting for 10-15 mins and its all back in the sump again.

Also, there are 2 level indicators on the dipstick, one for hot one for cold you will see them on different sides of it.

I would personally only check when its been sitting, just do it one morning before you leave the house.
