Can anyone recommend an oil change/ service reset tool for a Doblo 1.6 16v Multijet.
Just planning ahead & weighing up the cost of self servicing against garage prices.
Beg, borrow or steal a laptop (or a desktop PC with VERY long leads
Buy a copy of MultiECUScan and appropriate leads. It will pay for itself the first time you use it - even for something meaningless. You can also code all sorts of things on your car that you never knew that you wanted!
As an example. My Dobby decided that it would keep the brakes on all the time. Hard. this made it a bit difficult getting back home. I thought it may be the Hill Hold playing up. There were no error messages on the dash.
Connecting up the MultiECUScan showed me immediately that the brake light switch wasn't correct. As it turned out, it had dropped out of it's holder.
Moral: A) don't mess with your brake light switch and B) it was a "free" remedy. A garage would have charged labour, a diagnostic fee and probably for a new switch (that wasn't needed).
That sounds good to me & better than buying a dedicated reset tool. I have always serviced all my vehicles, but thought I might be stumped this time! Thanks for the advice, I will look for MES.?
