-awaits 'flaming' but seriously, open forum and all the rest of it, lets hear some critisms for and against?

Personally i think it's "refreshed" them and made them just a little bit different from the standard.

And they could probably do with 'flatting back' and maybe some laquer to finish but seeing as the paint was free and i didnt spend all that much time doing it i think it could be worse!

Nice work (y)

Did you paint all four wheels? :p

Personally I like the recessed areas to be emphasised in some way - e.g. with the outer face white, the four recessed areas could be painted satin black, a very-slightly-darker white, red, gunmetal grey... any colour of your choice. But that's only a 'could'. ;) Also bear in mind that photos don't necessarily do justice to shadow and I'm looking at a laptop LCD screen :) EDIT: the third picture, taken from an angle, shows the shadow much better!

I presume you know about how you can get the wheels balanced with stick-on weights on the inside rim - I think your 'before' pic showed a clip-on weight that I guess you've removed by now.

Anyway again good work and I agree with the others - much better than before!

Seeing as my wheels were already in a bad state yeah i think it was the right thing to do.. good idea about wheel bolt covers in black will give them a go!!

Oh and someone nicked the abarth center caps (that scorpion logo?) from 3 wheels.. madness.

Would probably end up gluing them to the wheels (only problem then is when they need balancing)

Cheers for the suggestions..

I suggest silicone windscreen sealant (black, neutral cure), as it's shock-proof, and peels off when you need to remove the caps. Well, that's how I hold on caps that have broken clips, but I guess you have a different problem - it's sad that urchins steal caps that obviously have a limited value/market. :(

No if a wheel is unbalanced when you balance it on the machine you smack x amount of weight on the outside of the rim and x amount on the inside.
Although people wanting to achieve a certain "Look" will alloys etc will use stick on weights on the inside of the rim.
Theres no difference to the way the wheel is balanced just the end result looks different..

Cant understand it, had some dust caps nicked aswell *just standard black caps!*

Just like false nails and skin products aren't a guys thing!
Got those black caps for the wheel nuts through today will pop them on and see if it makes them look any better,
I've done 3 now, and have laquered them (easier to clean and a bit more shiny now).

Still dont know if i can bring myself to pay £20-£25 just for some abarth center caps.. will post back with pic soon
