Off Topic - Should I buy a used import?

Hi,
Thinking of changing the Bravo - Sorry!

I was looking a used car today. It was originally bought in Ireland, but registered in the UK from new - the only owner imported the car.

Is it ok to buy a car like this? Also how much cheaper should it be than a normal UK car?

as long as its a UK spec car then it makes no difference to value, sometimes you will only get a 2 year warranty but that is usually sweetened with extra equipment. Wont effect insurance either if its good, buy it

In theory it shouldn't effect the value but it does because they are a bitch to sell on. Don't ask me why people just don't seen to like them.

With some imports parts are difficult to get hold of, but all you have to do is get the VIN number of the car you are thinking of buying go to a dealership and ask someone in the parts department if getting parts for that car is going to be difficult.

I know this as I have been trying to sell a Spanish import of UK spec ford puma for about 3 months with loads of time wasters. Finally got a buyer but £300 less than what I was looking for.

So to sum up, buying an import is great but selling one is not so great.

Hope this helps.

as long as its a uk spec import there will be no issue with parts. Cars are identical just usually purchased in countries where the strong pound makes them cheaper.

It's not a UK Spec. It lacks A/C and R/C/L that I can see, so it should be at least £500-£700 cheaper I think.
Just wondering if it should be another £500 quid cheaper as it is an import?
