Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: 'Off topic' posts

I don't want to be a censor. A forum cease to be a forum when it's censored.

By the way, how do you know that I'm not from the Emerald Isle too?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: 'Off topic' posts

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: 'Off topic' posts

Plus you don't have an Irish accent Rog.lol

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: 'Off topic' posts

Hey Roger - the give-away is that you refered to Ireland as the Emerald Isle. I don't think any Irishman ever calls it that unless they're blagging a tourist :)

Speersy - I think you got the wrong end of the stick. This whole thread is in favour of off-topic posts and free speech. Roberto just explained why the odd thread is locked

I don't agree with what you said about friends and strangers either. This is a public forum, which means anyone can come and talk here. One of the great things about the internet is that you get to talk to people you would never normally meet. I bet you've met knew people through coming here.

What do you mean by "strangers up their own arse?"

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: 'Off topic' posts

I removed posts in the past due to popular demand. It was what the forum wanted at the time. Other than that I do not censor the forum in anyway. there is no need to as the forum has been go so long without moderators in the 1st place.

We have a good set here and the forum just runs itself. The only reason I'm called for as a moderator is if Tom gets trigger happy and makes 45 replies to a post which he wants deleting or someone wants a pic of his gf removed, lol.

Other than that - long live the forum

As long as it stays free of PERSONAL abuse

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: 'Off topic' posts

As a point of order, why is this post called the "off topic" post? It cant be off topic unless someone posts a topic and then somebody else replies on another subject, and then it becomes off topic..lol

Seeing its about off topic posts, it should be called on topic surely?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: 'Off topic' posts

Strangely enough - a lot of abuse was aimed personally at me, which wasn't deleted. My **** taking was directed at cars, which was deleleted.

A duplicate set of rules?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: 'Off topic' posts

No need to drag up the past. Its done, gone, dusted. Things happened and its now gone.

Lets just get on and enjoy the forum

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: 'Off topic' posts

Patrick - it's called 'Off-topic Posts' because it's about posts on subjects other than the Bravo

Bravo posts = on topic
non-Bravo posts = off topic

It's quite simple really
