Technical Off thing in service manual

Was reading the service schedule in the handbook found something a bit off

Apperntly the lamba/O2 sensor is a service item on the 1.4 E4 engine

Not sure what the difference is between then E4 engine and the E6



But apparently the sensor is due a replacement every 18K miles


Anybody know what reason this would be?

It does seem strange to make it a service item. Looking at the footnote in the handbook I wonder if this only applies to certain foreign markets though?



Don't know why - maybe fuel quality issues in those markets?

Possibly sounds an expensive part to be changing every 18k mile's
Allthrough I would have thought if it was a fuel issues it would also need changing on the tjet as well

I agree it doesn't make a lot of sense.

Perhaps the T-Jet (and E6 versions) weren't available as an option for the countries in question?
