Technical OEM wheels and tyres

Wheels and tyres work together, It's best to keep as close to original as possible

There is a difference between handling and grip, handling can't be assessed on a road you need to be at and passed the limits of grip

Banging a wider on any old rim will not always produce the best handling and stable car

Fiat go to the trouble and expence of altering the ET for different widths

Take just the spare space saver, fiat fit three different diameters in two different widths

There is a bit of leeway, but adding a wide tread to a narrow rim will result in more sidewall flex, more edge tyre wear. To some extent you can counter this by pumping up the tyre but it's a comprimise and the ride will now suffer

Hopefully I have caught all the auto correct errors every time I type R13 it corrects it to R14 for some reason

Also worth remembering that fitting spacers, with appropriate length bolts, can also effect loading…once you go outside the parameters of the max size wheel and tyre combination
