OCD Disorders - Cures / treatment etc

Out of interest, if you had a OCD, especially one that could cause health issues later in life, how would you go about getting help for it?

I've a friend that I'm worried about and want to try and get them some help. I have spoken to them about it, but they don't really know how to go about it.

I think it depends on the OCD that it's based on

If it's one where you are always cleaning - that's not so bad IMO

My mum does.

If they have serious OCD then they will have to see a GP about it and they will refer them to somebody who will pump them full of chemicals.
Tell them if they have ever done recreational drugs to not mention it. I found that Psychiatrists didnt want to know once they found out i was on drugs.

A quick Google suggests it might be a type/form of fish oil, most of the other hits are for optical stuff (unsurprisingly).
