General OBD 2

Hi I’ve just recently bought two 1999 bravo HGT’s
I’ve googled where to find the obd port and it tell me it’s under the drivers wheel or to the right of it once you remove the cover panel. But I cannot for the life of me see it anywhere within that area does anyone know of it’s location thanks

Hi - if you're expecting a regular EOBD port, they only arrived on Bravo/Bravas post 2000 (and never on HGTs). You'll need a three-pin to EOBD adapter (try GENDAN or similar). The three-pin connector (male) is by the left-hand suspension top mount in the engine bay. You'll need an EOBD interface that can handle VAGCOM protocols if you're using MultiEcuscan....

Thankfully the Bosch engine management on the HGT is a lot more stable than the Marelli rubbish used on the 1.6 and others....

Cheers mate thank you, I’ll get onto that now I know what I’ve to do, spent ages lying upside down looking under the dash for one that’s not even there
