Technical O2 sensor location

Hi, i got a code on my car P0141 (02 sensor heater circuit malfunction (bank 1 sensor 2))

Am i currect in thinking one of my 02 sensors (the bank1 sensor2) has gone, and it needs replacing? If so where is this, i can only see 2 02 sensors.

Not sure if its ment to have 4 or what, or which bank is which and which sensor is which.

My car is a fiat punto 2003 v8, got a couple of pics to show you the location of the 2 i can see.

This is the first, the is from the front end of the car. You can see the cable going into the firewall (the grey silvery thing) and the sensor is just in there. And u can see the plug for the second sensor i can see just to the right of it.

And here is the second one i can see, just below the firewall.

Now these are the only 2 i can see. Iv run back on both the cables and seen they link up, and cant see anymore cables going to other sensors or anything, unless im missing something?

They are the only 2 sensors you have,
also I never knew FIAT did V8 engines in Puntos!!

Lol ops i ment 8v - 2003 Fiat Punto Active 8V, wish it had a v8!

So which would be which?

And shouldnt there be bank 1 and bank 2? like pre cat and post cat, if so why is the code for a bank 1 sensor 2?

No idea! Not sure how the citcuits work, I dont like electrics

I think its your post-cat sensor though. Isn't looking in the best shape either in the picture.
I know a few people have had a reading for a lambda sensor but it has turned out to be something else causing the problem. I'd replace and see if the code light goes off. If not there are many posts about them!

Ouch, i can hear my bank braking...

Any idea of where i can find new sensors online or the part number for it?

I don't think the sensor itself is expensive and very simple to replace.
It's just I suspect it will be the same as most others where the actual problem is causing a wrong reading from the sensor so therefore ecu is thinking sensor is at fault. I'll have a quick search and see if I can find other threads about it just incase it's more than the sensor.
Could well be just the sensor though so fingers crossed! Does look old

Yeah! I'd just say replace sensor see how it goes, new sensor and make sure you clean up all your terminals that connect the sensor! Could just be them rusted up so much it's effecting the reading from it!

It is your post cat sensor though, the one in the second picture!

Yeah when i looked ( havent taken it out) seems to look like alot of carbon build up, so ill give it a clean first of all see if that helps. If not ill replace the sensor (even if i dont need to ill replace it at some point soon).

Just notice something else, as you can see from my first post, the sensor is normal type, and u can see te connection for the second sensor in there too. If i remember the second sensor has different colour wiring, yellow and red i think (would look now but it dark and pouring down of rain).

Does this mean it could be a titania sensor post cat and a normal type pre cat?
