O/T show me a laptop

I have an acer travelmate 5520. It works fine, but now the lid is breaking up. Its down near where the hinge is, guess I must have dropped it and cracked it, so now the lid is kinda floppy (ok, stop the dirty jokes)

So, two questions....can I just buy a new lid and screen from somewhere?

If not, whats a cheap laptop that I could use just to surf the net and stuff? I wont be playing games on it, I can go to bingo for that,lol it would just be surfing, webcamming and skyping friends and stuff...just the basics.

would you consider a Netbook or referb laptop??


Dell 10 mini netbook are about £200

or a referb laptop is about £100 with 90 warrenty.

Nothing wrong with a refurb.....do notebooks come with a webcam? Dont know much about them new fangled things

I just knew this post would get technical

Its not the actual hinges, its the corner bit of the backing plastic on the lid. Right on the corner. I must have dropped it or something and it started off as a little crack but with keep opening and closing it, the crack is slowly getting worse.

If you can imagine looking at an open laptop, its not the hinges, its the plastic on the side of the hinges.
