Hi there all, I have an UNO Mia 1100, it is a carb model..The problem is that the car all of a sudden developed this new problem were, it does not start, like sometimes when I turn the key, the ignition lights all come on but nothing happens, and sometimes the ignition lights wont come on at all, as if the battery was dead (But the inside car light would be on and the hooter works fine, so I know the battery aint dead). Then I would have to kick start the car to start it. But despite this problem, sometimes the car does start on the turn, i.e everytime I take it to the mechanic, it starts repeatedly on the turn. Any ideas what could be wrong with the car??

Nope checked that, and it aint a problem, cos when i turn the key to start and when the lights on the dash dont show up, I am still able to turn on my CD player and inside car light as well as honk my hooter.
Check the contacts behind the steering column cowl, wiggle them about and see if it makes a difference, could be poor/damaged connectors. Also have you checked and cleaned the main earth, probably near the battery tray.

yeah sounds like a bad earth to me aswell or possible battery fault. check battery condition, all earths make sure the earth lead to the g/box is gd and starter motor is gettin a gd earth. if that doesnt help then check ignition switch contacts +swithch maybe a bit of corrosion or somethin in there. happend on my ut!
