Yes you are wright it is a CP1 pump, thank you for the safety advise, Please dont think i am being to clever, i do need all the advice i can get
I have been a HGV Fitter for 50 years, i now repair cars part time and help people to repair there cars, but its impossible to know how to répare them all
Like i have said all the advice is very important to get to the bottom of the fault's
every day is a school day
Thank again

Thank you bugsymike, for your help

SORTED, it now starts, fitted the pump, with the ignition on fuel was running out of the pump pipe going to the rail, fitted all of the pipes and it started, but i did not have new seals and the pump leaked very badly. So pump back off and i have ordered new seal,
Thanks all for the help

Like you Motor trade since late 1960s, but mostly cars and light goods, biggest was Mercedes 608 and Iveco Daily's.
It is the later Common Rail engines that cause all the grief with the ECUs, DPFs and EGRs etc. :(

This is the end of this thread.
Thanks again for all of your help

Rebuilt the high pressure fuel pump with a new seal kit, fitted, started and no leaks, road tested, ok
Following day started the van and engine management light cam on, code fault, pressurer regulator, fitted a new one engine light is know off

So problems , ecu not sending the right power to crankshaft sensor, ( engine code and rev counter not moving when cranked, after ecu repair rev counter moved when cranked, no codes )
High pressure pump feed pipe valve stuck open, so no high pressure fuel from the pump
