Non-return valve on front windscreen washers?

Does any one know if there is a non return valve for the front washers. It takes about 4-5 seconds for water to come out.

I know there is one for the rear as I had to change it several months back, but I can't see one for the front. Anyone know where it is likely to be or what else might be the problem.

Doesn't appear to be any leaks.

Its a 97P 1.6SX.

Cheers,

There is one, but that is the extent of my knowledge on the subject.
Keeps water in the tube stopping it all flowing back into the reservoir.
The delay you mention sounds like yours is not doing its job.

Mark.

SteveO, the valve is located on the underside of the bonnet, close to the lower edge when you open it up. At least it is on my Brava.. :)

Markus - is it near the washer bottle? Or near the 'A' pillar/wiper motor?

A bit more of an description of location would be great. Also what Brava do you have? Is it a 1.6

On my car, a left-hand drive, the valve is located on the underside of the bonnet, right about here:

Markus,
I think that is for the rear washers, at least that is where the rear one is located on my 1.6.

valve

The valve for the rear washer is hidden behind/under the battery. The valve for the two front sprays is attached to the underside of the bonnet in the location I've marked out on the pic.

..... at least on my Brava.

Re: valve

The front NR valve is hidden behind the bonnet sound-proofing felt, between the felt and the bonnet itself.

Mark.
