Can noise supressors be used between my dvd player in the boot, and my head-unit aux-in? would this sort out my interference problem? I do not have any amps, just the basic line-in, from my dvd player.

Cheers,

Tom

Can you firstly explain your interference problem. Is it when the tuner is on or CD? does it get louder with the revs or what. Any info would help here but I don't have faith in surpressors. Find the route cause first and nail that. What car/gear?

Did you earth the DVD at the boot end or head unit end?

It's whenever the DVD player is on. It doesn't happen through the CD or Radio. There is a noise that increases with the Revs, but this is not noticible untill you turn the Head-Unit up quite loud.

It's a MK2 punto.

The only earth i know of, is the fact it is earthed at the head-unit end..through the ISO cable. It's a SONY Picot1 dvd player, so i don't really know how to earth it. It is earthed through the plug?

Cheers..thanks for helping...annoying problem this.

the only two earths i know it had, is the head-unit is earthed through the ISO, as i said above. and the dvd player is only earthed through the electrical plug, which i had plugged in an extension lead tonight, and it hummed then. but it usually hums aswell, when working through the invertor, but this is not earthed, so the dvd player will not be earthed through the plug then.

Cheers,

Tom

I would suggest a screened cable from your dvd player to your head unit. Grounding of the screen should be done near to the point where your head unit is grounded. This will lower the chance of ground loops, as its more likely the two will then be at the same electrical potential. Hope this helps.
